I know that I probably shouldn't have to post this considering the forum is labeled [ADULTS ONLY] in the title, but for the sake of the board and its members, I feel it necessary to be reiterated: You may not post or create an account here if you are under the age of 18. If I or any other moderator here discovers any member on DragonSpot to be anything less than an adult, the member's account will be IMMEDIATELY removed. This holds in effect for ANY age under 18, even if you're going to tell me that you'll be an adult tomorrow. If that's the case, then you can wait for tomorrow. (Upon when we can wish you a happy birthday too.
) And please do not come to me with comments like "Well, I didn't know!" or "It says 13+ in the registration field!" I don't care how old you are; there is no excuse for not only ignoring the rules but also the warning in the title of the forum, and I'm going to start cracking down on this much harder now than I have been lately. I have no control to stop minors from browsing the forums, but I at least ask that if you are a minor, PLEASE do not sign up here until you are of age. I cannot stress this enough.If it turns out you are under 18, I would also greatly appreciate it if you could be respectful enough NOT to lie about it to us. Be honest from the beginning. I understand that it's tempting to lie so you can participate, but you have to understand why I'm asking this. I personally don't want anyone to get in hot water, nor do I wish to see the board under fire from those who may discover adult content in their kid's history and start blaming us for not doing their jobs as responsible parents. As Morca has said before, this is not because we are automatically assuming that all minors will act less than mature. This is U.S. LAW. Besides, I would much rather hear the truth from you yourself than have to find out second-hand, which could easily result in you permanently not being here.
I'm sorry, but this is the way it has to be unless you want to risk DragonSpot being taken down or at the very least no longer functioning as a forum for adult content. If too many people fail to listen to this, I may have to consider requiring birthdate information from members before they can be activated, and that REALLY doesn't fly with me. With the exception of when the forum was overrun by active bots several months ago after I came here, this forum has for years kept an open-door honor system regarding new members. I don't want another reason to change that, especially when the reason is quite avoidable.

(UPDATE 09/25/2007: I just received a question about those from across our borders who are not considered minors where they are from. The answer does not change: 18+ or bust. I do not care if being an adult in your country means you can look over the bar table. When coming to a forum run by a server in the United States, you are expected to follow United States law just as if you were on our soil. Do not bother telling me this is discrimination. In accordance with our discrimination laws, I do not approve of granting special rights or privileges that may be expected simply as a result of one's national point of origin; therefore, if you fail to meet the age requirements that our laws have set, your account will get a strongbad just like any American minor that comes here.
