Food prep and cooking is one of my favorite things in vore RP, actually.
Why? Well, for one, its delicous for myself as the prey, since I get something to snack on usually. Thick syrups or stuffing inside the body can be quite appealing and warm, and I love heat. That love of heat is kinda key, too.. ;> And bondage! A lot of the food prep stuff kind of inclkudes some bondage, such as being cooked into a pie for example, or trussed like a turkey.
Not to mention it proves the pred has truly out-witted and dominated and controlled the prey, if they have time to prep said prey! Yummeh!

Go check out one of my RP logs with a couple great friends: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4179884 as an example of what I consider to be really fun food play stuff. :>
Lawful good? Heck, I'm lawful fucking fantastic!

Preferably when I think about being eaten , I like to feel like a piece of meat nothing more. Being tied up like an animal and rubbed with butter and seasoning before being cooked can be a very exciting fantasy. To be fair being eaten by a Creature with vicious claws and teeth , warm steamy gooey tongue that reaches out and tastes you from your toes to your forehead before pulling you into your peril also stimulates my excitement. It is hard to decide which I would prefer.

I see it as kind of a bondage/torture/rape thing .

When you put it that way, I could go for being cooked to a crisp, but why bother cooking me? I'm already a warm and toasty little Char! Though, I guess a bubbling cauldron would still be hell for me with the water and all; I mean, all the humidity would make it pointless for not-so-flame-retardant prey to sweat, especially humans(I would know - I live in Florida!).
